40-Year Building Safety Inspection Program
If you have received a notice from your local city or county building department concerning your obligation to re-certify your property under the 40-Year Building Safety Inspection Program, we can assist you.
GFA has the experience and in-house capability to perform all required Florida Building Code inspections. Non-compliance with the electrical and structural components of this safety program can result in not only safety issues, but also potentially expensive and time-consuming processes including:
- Board Hearings
- City / County assessed Penalties and/or Fines
- Property Liens
GFA has a specialized department which will perform the necessary inspections. We will provide you with the necessary inspection check list, and prepare the necessary reports which will be signed & sealed by a State of Florida Registered Professional Engineer. These reports should be turned in to your local municipality to obtain compliance with the program and obtain re-certification under the program.
For more information regarding the specifics of your property, please contact our 40-Year Re-Certification Department for scheduling and fees at 561-347-0070.

All technical questions should be addressed to the Broward County Board of Rules and Appeals website: www.broward.org/codeappeals/safety_inspection.htm or by contacting your local city or county building department. The mandatory building safety inspections program is not in effect until you receive notification from a city or county’s building department.
